After his affair with their housemaid was surfaced, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver had divorced. The couple divorced in 2017, but in truth, they had splitted in 2011.
In 2013, Schwarzenegger had started his relationship with Heather Milligan, and the couple are still together.
Schwarzenegger was born in 1947, in Graz, Austria. He wanted to become a body builder, when he was a teenager. As he loved working on his body, he enrolled in Austrian army, when he was 18. But went AWOL, as he went to Germany and became Junior Mr. Europe.
“It wasn’t really jail. I was there for one night so they could say, ‘We punished him.’ But they were proud. Then I went back to tank-driving school,” Schwarzenegger said.
He was a star at the age of 20, in his own field of competitive bodybuilding. He became the youngest person who became the Mr. Universe.
In 1968, he went to US, and received five Mr. Universe titles, and seven Mr. Olympia titles.
But Schwarzenegger wanted an acting career, but he had no idea how he will, as he was a big sized man who wouldn’t be able to do much with his body, in terms of acting. And he used that in his advantage.
“I never auditioned. Never,” Arnold said. “I would never go out for the regular parts because I was not a regular looking guy, so my idea always was everyone is going to look the same and everyone is trying to be the blond guy in California, going to Hollywood interviews and looking somewhat athletic and cute and all this.”
“Okay, how can I carve myself out a niche that only I have? And so I always felt really strong about I have to get into the movie business.”
As he starred as Conan, later, he received his brealthrough with the iconic series, Terminator.
As at first, he was going to act as Kyle Reese in the movie, he wanted to became the Terminator, as he stated, “He’s a machine. So everything has to be matter-of-fact. I told Jim that,”
“I said there should be no joy, no gratification, no kind of victory lap of any sort. Just the mission, complete. I go through these points. Jim, afterward, says to me, ‘F*ck, you analyze it better than the way I have written it. Why don’t you play the Terminator?”
“Everyone wants to wipe out a police station when they get mad at the police. We had a test screening. We showed it to 50 cops. They all applauded when I wiped out the police station—because it was not a human being doing it, it was the machine doing it,”
He became the Terminator again, in 2019. Arnold stated, “There’s a saying in German: Selbsterkenntnis ist der beste Weg zur Besserung, which means Self-knowledge is the best way to improve. I believe in that,”
“When you fail, the trick is to get up again and evaluate in an honest way what went wrong. Yes, it’s easy to say, ‘Don’t do Hercules in New York‘. But that was an interesting experience. Each one of the things I made a mistake in, I eventually learned from that, and it made me a better person. It made me more experienced. It made me wiser.”
He met with his wife, Maria Shriver in 1977, at a charity tennis tournament. He was there as Arnold, and Shriver was there as a journalist.
Nine years later from their first meeting, the couple got married at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
Together they had four children, Katherine (1989), Patrick (1993), Christina (1991), and Christopher (1997).
After 25 years, the couple separated their ways, when Arnold’s affair with their housemaid was surfaced. The couple announced in 2011, that they are getting a divorce.
“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us,” they started to their statement.
“After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship,”
“We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the centre of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment.”
From their housemaid, Midred Baena, Arnold has another son, 24-year-old Joseph Baena.
In 2015, to Howard Stern, Arnold stated that, “He’s terrific and he totally understands the situation,”
“So, it all has worked out… It’s a very tough situation for him. It’s a very tough situation for my kids, very tough situation for my family,”
“It was tough for everybody,”
“But it has happened and now we have to figure it out, right?”
“The minute we sat down, the therapist turned to me and said, ‘Maria wanted to come here today and to ask about a child — whether you fathered a child with your housekeeper Mildred,’”
“I told the therapist, ‘It’s true.’”
In 2013, Arnold was spotted with Heather Milligan, as they were seen while kissing, in Santa Monica, California.
Milligan had graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas, and had her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
She is working as a physical therapist in her own practice, Elite Ortho Sport. Milligan stated, “I feel very fortunate, spoiled, that we have great patients and therapists that we get to work with,”
“It’s gone by fast.”
As Arnold wants their relationship to be private, Arnold never talked about Milligan in his interviews. Also, he never shared a picture with Milligan in his social media account, as he wants a private relationship.
