“When, after 10 years of hopeless attempts, I finally gave birth to triplets at the age of 48, instead of congratulating me, everyone around started criticizing me.”

I am forty-eight years old, and six months ago, I gave birth to triplets. It was a tremendous joy for me and my husband. For the past ten years, I had been trying to get pregnant, but without success.

Doctors would just shake their heads, saying that I should have started having children earlier. Relatives suggested not spending so much money on fertility treatments and instead adopting a child from an orphanage. However, I wanted my own baby, to experience the joy of pregnancy and giving birth.

In my younger years, I didn’t think about having children due to difficult relationships with my first husband. But when I met Vadim, everything changed. We got married quite early, both being around twenty years old. He soon became abusive, and our relationship ended due to his alcohol addiction.

I went through a long and challenging recovery after that negative experience. Then I met the love of my life, Leonid. He was different from other men, caring and serious about our relationship. With him, I started wanting children.

When I finally got pregnant after another attempt, we were overjoyed. Throughout the pregnancy, Leonid was supportive, even being present during the deliveries, holding my hand bravely. After the children were born, our lives changed drastically. Many people didn’t hesitate to express negativity towards us, believing it’s unacceptable to have three babies at our age.
